Our History

“On a bare hill, raise a signal, cry aloud to them, wave the hand for them to enter…”Isaiah 13:2. The vision for HighRidge began with a dream given to HighRidge Senior Pastor, Jeff Klingenberg, one evening in January 2000. In his dream, Jeff was seen planted on top of a bare hill calling out and waving in the people to enter, hear God’s word and be saved. This, however, was not the first dream the Lord gave Jeff regarding His Church. In early 1995, while serving as co-pastor at a local Fort Worth Church, Jeff was given his first dream regarding what is now HighRidge Church. In his dream, he felt the Lord calling him to plant a solid and balanced, Spirit-led, bible-based church that would reach the southwest Fort Worth area with the message of Jesus Christ. Upon waking, Jeff’s heart was filled with a tremendous burden to see this dream come to fruition and ultimately lead the people of Fort Worth into abundant, grace-filled lives.

After months of prayer and preparation, Jeff and his family planted Benbrook Christian Fellowship in the summer of 1995. Services began on the sofas of the Klingenberg’s living room, and quickly moved to a suite located in a nearby shopping center. By January of 2000, Benbrook Christian Fellowship grew from only needing one of the 12 shopping center suites to occupying nine. At that time, the church began to pray for God’s wisdom on moving into a larger facility and it was then that Jeff was given the vision for HighRidge Church. Jeff recognized the piece of land he envisioned in his dream and drove out to see it the very next day. Not only was the land literally on a high ridge, it was the highest point in the county and coincidently, up for sale. The members of Benbrook Christian Fellowship then began a period of praying, fasting, and watching as God opened the doors for them to purchase the land and begin the process of building what is now, HighRidge Church.

After several years of raising money, planning and constructing the new church building, HighRidge Church opened its doors for the very first time in October 2007. Once the new building was open, the worship center quickly filled with people hungry for God’s word leading to HighRidge starting a second Sunday service to meet the growing need.

Our Future

The hope and desire of HighRidge Church has not changed throughout the years. We continue to exist to strengthen people for life through the love and encouragement of Christ. As the chapters of our history continue to be written, we pray that God allows us opportunities to further His Kingdom by reaching people of all social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. We desire to build up one another and serve the needs of those who reside in our community.
